The Land
The palette is 100+ acres of untouched natural landscape known as Blackland Prairie, located just one-half mile east of Custer Road on the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH 121). Here you’ll find an expansive forest of mature pecan, elm and hackberry trees, rolling topography, Rowlett Creek, and prominent hedgerows. The intention has always been to thoughtfully preserve this natural landscape while integrating our own plans into Mother Nature’s original design.
The Meadow is both the focal point and central gathering place on the arts park. It forms the core of a pedestrian zone and will be a place for special events, outdoor gatherings and exhibits.

Just to the west of the meadow is a sculpture garden that will provide a location for large-scale sculptures in a natural park environment. The sculpture garden will sit at the West end of a nature trail that runs along a creek for more than 1,000 feet before connecting to the Six Cities Trail along Rowlett Creek.
The Texans Credit Union Event Terrace & Grill will offer terraced seating, a fixed performance stage, and an outdoor grill. Visitors will also have the capability to enjoy movies or performances occurring inside the hall from the beauty of the outdoors.
The nucleus of the site is Rowlett Creek and its tributaries that sustain the heavy woodlands along its banks. It runs clear and clean through the center of an open-space corridor, connecting to a system of trails and parks throughout the county, known as the Six Cities Regional Trail.

Whether you are approaching by car, on foot or inside the center, you’ll see this space defined by a carefully-tended green perimeter that serves to protect its identity from the growth that will undoubtedly surround it.
